Tokyo stocks opened slightly higher Friday, lifted by exporters on a weaker yen, while a wait-and-see mood prevailed ahead of remarks from the Bank of Japan chief at parliament later in the morning. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 96.54 points, or 0.25 percent, from Thursday to 38,307.55. The broader Topix index was up 9.30 points, or 0.35 percent, at 2,680.70. On the top-tier Prime Market, gainers were led by marine transportation, pharmaceutical and pulp and paper issues.
