Lufthansa Technik, the aircraft maintenance subsidiary of German airline Lufthansa, has struck a licensing deal with US aircraft manufacturer Boeing to overhaul the interiors of Boeing 787 aircraft. Lufthansa and Boeing revealed the agreement at the Farnborough International Airshow in the United Kingdom on Monday. The deal makes Lufthansa Technik the first company in the world with such far-reaching authorizations to overhaul Boeing aircraft and have the planes certified by regulators.
