The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed in the second reading the draft law No. 10265 on a single roaming area with the European Union.

From now on, Ukrainians will be able to avoid paying additional fees for mobile communications and the Internet in 27 EU countries, as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. European travelers will also enjoy domestic tariffs in Ukraine.

This is another powerful step in Ukraine’s integration into the EU’s Digital Single Market. With this decision, Ukraine has fulfilled its obligation to adopt legislation to join the single roaming area.

“Next, we are waiting for a positive assessment of this law from the European side and will start negotiations on joining Euro-roaming,” says Deputy Prime Minister Mykhailo Fedorov.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, European operators have been providing Ukrainians with temporary preferential conditions for using communications. They either don’t pay for it or pay low roaming rates. The draft law will allow Ukrainians to enjoy the uniform tariffs of mobile operators in the EU on a permanent basis now and after the victory.
