Nordic steelmaker SSAB on Wednesday reported profit before tax of 1.3 billion Swedish kroner ($123 million) for the third quarter, significantly lower than the 4.4 billion kroner a year ago, primarily due to decline in revenue. SSAB attributed the fall to lower US steel plate prices and continued weakness in the European market. Net profit decreased to 1 billion kroner from 3.5 billion kroner. Revenue for the quarter dropped to 24.3 billion kroner from 29.3 billion kroner in the previous year.
