The Russian Foreign Ministry summoned the German ambassador on Tuesday to protest against the opening of a new German Navy headquarters that aims to bolster NATO’s defence readiness in the Baltic Sea region. In a statement, it said that the headquarters violated the Two-Plus-Four Agreement, which was concluded in the wake of German reunification and prohibits the stationing of NATO troops in eastern Germany.
