A convict who escaped from a medical facility in southern Germany last week has been detained in Austria. Austrian police said the man was arrested in the south-eastern state of Styria late on Thursday and is being held in prison. The public prosecutor’s office in the German city of Regensburg has requested his transfer back to Germany. The 28-year-old German national fled from the Straubing District Hospital in Bavaria on August 17 along with three other inmates.
