Tokyo stocks opened higher Tuesday after recent consecutive falls, as investor sentiment was lifted by gains on Wall Street overnight. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average rose 272.80 points, or 0.69 percent, from Monday to 39,871.80. The broader Topix index was up 18.43 points, or 0.65 percent, at 2,845.96. On the top-tier Prime Market, gainers were led by marine transportation, glass and ceramics product, and real estate issues.
