Aiden McGeady announced his retirement last week after a career spanning more than 20 years. The Celtic hero enjoyed stints in Glasgow as well as Russia with Spartak Moscow, the Premier League with Everton and internationally with Ireland before winding down. He would also play for Hibs and Ayr United while acting as the latter’s technical manager dealing with recruitment for the first-team as well as organising youth academy incomings.
