Fernando Alonso may well have the chance to work with Adrian Newey next year. Aston Martin are now the firm favourites to sign the former Red Bull designer. Newey handed in his resignation ahead of the Miami Grand Prix at the start of May. Having successfully negotiated his way out of any gardening leave, he’ll be able to work for a new team in the first quarter of 2025. Crucially, that gives him time to influence the 2026 car concept.
