Plans have been put forward that would see a popular coffee shop and a fast-food restaurant built on a busy roundabout. In plans submitted to Newark and Sherwood District Council, it is proposed that new Starbucks and McDonalds drive thrus are built on the White Post roundabout near Farnsfield. Permission is being sought to demolish the former Winner City Cantonese restaurant, which currently occupies the site, to make way for the new restaurants.
