A shoplifter was fined and ordered to pay compensation back to a supermarket after stealing children’s shoes and Halloween items. Michael O’Dwyer, 30, appeared at Lynn Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he admitted the theft which took place on October 7 last year. Prosecutor Abdul Khan explained that at 7pm, O’Dwyer was seen going into Tesco in Swaffham and picking up a basket. In that basket he placed some children’s shoes and various Halloween items, with a total value of £34. He then abandoned the basket and left the store with the items but did not pay for them.
