Two people were killed in an avalanche in Switzerland while ski touring in the Alps, police said on Saturday. The men, aged 54 and 57, were caught in the masses of snow near Klosters on Friday and swept 200 metres over rocky terrain, suffering fatal injuries in the process, police said. The two Swiss nationals had been staying at the Silvretta hut, a hut operated by the Swiss Alpine Club offering accommodation to hikers and skiiers on the foot of the Silvretta glacier, and were headed towards Klosters when the accident occurred on a slope with a steep gradient.
