According to rumors, the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event will take place in early July. As usual, the South Korean brand is expected to present the next generation of foldable phones, smartwatches, headphones, and the long-awaited Galaxy Ring. Now we’ve seen the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra for the first time in renders shared by reliable informant Steve Hemmerstoffer, aka onleaks. It is expected to be the most popular model in the Watch 7 series.

The first thing that comes to mind is the unique, yet confusing design of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. It’s hard to tell if the dial is square or round. It looks like a circle on top of a square base. Perhaps Samsung is differentiating the Watch 7 Ultra from other models in the lineup with a new design that differs from the traditional all-round design.

Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will have the iconic glossy rotating bezels with grooves instead of numbers. There are two physical buttons on the right side of the smartwatch that can be found on previous Galaxy Watch models. However, there is also an additional crown-like button between them. It may be similar to the “Action” button on the Apple Watch Ultra. On the other hand, the Watch 7 Ultra has larger cutouts for the speaker grilles.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra has wider straps, and the mounting mechanism seems to be different. There are many round and square sensors on the back of the device. It is confirmed that the temperature sensor will be retained. According to rumors, the upcoming Watch 7 series will be equipped with a blood sugar monitoring function.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will have the same 1.5-inch display as the Watch 6 Classic. The round screen means that the company will not have to redesign the interface of the upcoming novelty, as it would be the case with a square dial. The Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra measures 47 x 47.4 x 16.4 mm, which is larger than the Watch 6 Classic. There is no doubt that the smartwatch will be more bulky.

It looks like Samsung is trying to push the Apple Watch Ultra with the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. We’ll know more in less than two months.
