Manchester United have announced the winner of the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award as Bruno Fernandes. The Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year Award has been around since 1988 when Brian McClair first picked up the accolade. Since then, it’s been awarded to some of the most influential names in the club’s history, ranging from Roy Keane to Eric Cantona to David de Gea. Now, even after a drab 23/24 campaign, the trophy needed a new home – and it goes to Manchester United club captain, Bruno Fernandes.
