As planned, Nubia has released an updated version of the Nubia Z60 Ultra smartphone, which was introduced last December with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
The top-of-the-line version of the Nubia Z60 Ultra comes in two color options – black and silver. You can get a better idea of the appearance from the images below.
While the black variant features a 1.15mm lattice pattern and a 25mm micro-etching process, the silver variant comes with a 5mm micro-crystal etching and a 25mm micro-etching process. As in the regular version, the phone is equipped with a slide-out button on the side panel. This button offers a number of functions, including launching the camera.
The phone has a boxy design, very similar to the original version, with slight changes to the camera island. Speaking of cameras, the phone comes with a 50-megapixel (1/1.49″) primary camera with f/1.59 aperture and a 16+6P lens with a focal length equivalent to 35mm. It’s paired with another 50-megapixel 1/1.55″ sensor for ultra-wide-angle shooting (with a 7P aspherical lens) and a 64-megapixel (1/2″) sensor for telephoto with a focal length equivalent to 85mm (3.3x zoom). All three cameras on the back support OIS.
The front panel features a 6.8-inch 2.5D flexible AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 400 PPI pixel density. This panel reaches a peak brightness of 1500 nits, covers 100% of the wide DCI-P3 color gamut, and supports high-frequency PWM dimming of 2160 Hz.
The Wired version phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip (just like the original version). It is paired with LPDDR5X RAM + UFS 4.0 storage. The phone is equipped with a 6000 mAh battery, which has an energy density of 750 Wh/L. This energy density is 16% higher than standard graphite anode batteries.
Price and availability:
The phone is available worldwide for $649 (8GB + 256GB) via the company’s official website. The 12GB + 256GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB versions cost $699, $779, and $879, respectively.
