Germany’s automotive regulator is holding hearings into whether BMW sought to manipulate vehicle emissions for decade-old models of the carmaker’s X3 SUV. A spokesman for Germany’s Motor Transport Authority (KBA) on Wednesday confirmed the proceedings to dpa, which had first been reported by the Bild newspaper. According to BMW, the vehicles in question are X3 SUV models with a two-litre diesel engine built between 2010 and 2014.
