Alcohol consumption in France is continuing to fall although women in some age groups are drinking more frequently than before, according to a study. The study presented by the health authorities in Paris on Tuesday showed that the annual consumption of alcohol by people aged 15 and over fell from 11.7 to 10.5 litres between 2017 and 2021. Wine consumption in particular is declining, driven by a change in cultural habits and campaigns against alcohol consumption, it said.
