There were explosions in the western Russian city of Lipetsk, some 400 kilometres south of the Russian capital, on Friday night and a major fire broke out in a steelworks, according to reports. Regional governor Igor Artamonov said on Telegram that the fire broke out at the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Plant and had since been extinguished. He added there was no threat of hazardous substances being released.
