By Daniel Moxon A brake fire ruined Max Verstappen’s shot at a 10th-straight F1 victory as Carlos Sainz picked up the pieces to win the Australian Grand Prix. The Dutchman started on pole but on just the second lap he had already lost the lead to the Ferrari. It was clear he was suffering with an issue and that became a terminal problem when flames appeared which melted the tyre and rear-right corner of his Red Bull. That left Sainz free to take full control of the race and he managed it excellently to end Verstappen’s streak – just as he had done in Singapore last year. To cap off a dream day…
