A children’s play site has reopened after a series of landslips in the area. Folkestone and Hythe District Council announced on Facebook on Friday: “We’ve reopened the section of the Lower Leas Coastal Park play area that was closed off for a short time – it can be enjoyed safely once more.” The area has had at least nine landslides this year, caused by a combinaion of excess wind, unstable ground and weight of trees during high winds ppssibly be weakening the stability of the cliff.
