ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. \- A 25-year-old St. Petersburg man is in serious condition after a high-speed crash on Interstate 275 near the Skyway Bridge this afternoon. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was driving a Tesla sedan southbound on I-275 at excessive speeds when he lost control of the vehicle around the 16-mile marker. The car veered off the roadway, struck a drainage pond, and overturned into the mangroves, ejecting the driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, into the Gulf of Mexico.
