Pigeons in the western German city of Limburg are cooing a collective sigh of relief – for the moment, at least – after the local council announced it would not be implementing a referendum decision to kill the birds. The debate about the fate of the pigeons has been going on for months, but amid a backlash the city council decided recently that 200 of them can be saved.
