Former Super Eagles forward Anthony Ujah is rooting for Augustine Eguavoen to be the new substantive head coach of the team. Eguavoen is currently managing the Super Eagles on an interim basis. The former defender took charge of the team for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda this month. The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is, however, still planning to hire a foreign technical adviser for the team.
