The main suspect being held in custody in the western German city of Solingen following a fatal mass stabbing there was wearing blood-stained clothing, dpa has been told by a source in the police. The man turned himself in the day after the fatal knife attack on Friday. Police in Düsseldorf said on Sunday morning that the suspect is a 26-year-old Syrian. The federal prosecutor’s office is investigating the murders and the man’s suspected membership of the Islamic State terrorist group.
