Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi militia reported on Sunday that they had fired a number of rockets at the US-flagged Torm Thor oil tanker in the Gulf of Aden and launched drone attacks on US naval vessels. US Central Command (CENTCOM), which is responsible for the region, reported that one of its destroyers, the USS Mason, on Saturday had shot down one anti-ship ballistic missile thought to be targeting the Torm Thor. “Neither USS Mason nor MV Torm Thor were damaged, and there were no injuries,” CENTCOM posted on X.
