German magazine publishers are honouring journalist, war correspondent and human rights activist Düzen Tekkal with this year’s Press Freedom Prize. The Media Association of the Free Press (MVFP) will present Tekkal with the award at a ceremony in Berlin on June 6, the organization said. The award honours Tekkal’s “courageous, intelligent and tireless commitment” to the freedom of the press, diversity of opinion and a pluralistic society, MVFP said.
