A plan to build two hotels and an “upscale” restaurant has cleared land-use boards in Cherry Hill, to the delight of some local officials. “It’s a big upgrade to an area that has languished for decades,” Cherry Hill Mayor David Fleisher told NJ Advance Media about the site for the new hotels. “It was pretty much was a junkyard.” The 11-acre site on Route 70 West leading to Philadelphia, 11 miles away, was a rundown strip that was mostly occupied by a family stone quarry.
