The unique traditions of the annual Wellow Maypole Day will take place this bank holiday Monday. Wellow Maypole Day is a unique experience in Nottinghamshire, with the traditional family friendly event centred around the village’s spectacular 17 metres high painted maypole. The Maypole celebrations have been a feature of Wellow village life for well over a hundred years, and the size of the event can be quite surprising to those new to the event.
