A seal pup with “severe breathing issues” has been rescued after it was found on a beach. The three-month-old male was spotted on Joss Bay in Broadstairs at about 9.30am today. The British Divers Marine Life Rescue (BDMLR) was called, and medics rushed to the animal’s aid. Volunteer Shelia Stone said: “He had severe breathing issues. “He was lifted and transported to RSPCA Mallydam’s rehabilitation centre in Hastings. “The pup is receiving the treatment it needs, and will hopefully make a full recovery.” The mammal weighed 28kg, slightly underweight for his age.
