The suspect in the knife attack which claimed the lives of three people in the western German city of Solingen has been remanded in custody by order of an investigating judge. The attack took place on Friday evening at a market square in Solingen’s city centre during the Festival of Diversity, which was being thrown to celebrate the city’s 650th anniversary.
