After nine months in detention with the Taliban in Afghanistan, an Austrian right-wing extremist has been released. The Austrian Chancellery and Foreign Ministry said on Sunday that the 84-year-old had landed in the Qatari capital Doha. He had been held by the Islamist Taliban movement which now rules Afghanistan, since May 2023.
