Low-cost airline Ryanair announced on Wednesday it was investing $200 million in Sweden as part of a significant expansion in the Scandinavian country. It follows the Swedish government’s decision to abolish the Aviation Tax from July 1, 2025. In a statement, Ryanair said the Stockholm’s decision to scrap the tax is “pragmatic and forward-thinking.” Ryanair said it will rapidly increase capacity in Sweden by adding 2 extra Boeing 737 aircraft to its Sweden-based fleet.
