Mix Flip is officially going international. After many years of the flagship Mix Fold remaining exclusive to China, Mix Flip will be the company’s first foldable smartphone to debut on the European market.
The launch was confirmed by Nikolay Nankov, Xiaomi’s country manager for Bulgaria, in an interview with Mobile Bulgaria. Nankov announced that Mix Flip will make its debut in Eastern Europe over the next few weeks, with sales starting after August 15, 2024. He also noted that the price will be around BGN 2,600, or approximately €1,300.
Xiaomi Mix Flip specifications
The Mix Flip boasts a 6.9-inch folding OLED display capable of reaching a peak brightness of 3000 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. On the outside, it has a smaller four-inch display cover that integrates a dual rear camera. Xiaomi claims that you can use the external display for a variety of tasks without having to turn the phone around.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the best SoC to date. The camera system consists of a 50-megapixel primary sensor with phase detection autofocus and optical image stabilization, as well as a 50-megapixel telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom.
To meet the needs of users, Xiaomi has equipped the Mix Flip with an impressive 4800 mAh battery. While the company offers three memory configurations in China – 12GB or 16GB of RAM paired with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of internal storage – it remains unclear what options will be available in the European market.
Xiaomi‘s entry into the global folding smartphone market with the Mix Flip offers an interesting alternative for consumers. However, with a price tag of €1,300, Xiaomi will face stiff competition from established players such as Samsung and Motorola, which have already established a strong presence in the folding smartphone market globally.
