In the wage compromise between the German railway, Deutsche Bahn, and the GDL union, the company has made significant concessions and agreed to the union’s 35-hour work week, according to the agreement reached. The 35-hour work week is to be implemented in stages by 2029, the agreement states. Deutsche Bahn had proposed a 36-hour work week, but the union stuck to its 35-hour demand and accompanied that with several strikes. Both sides, in separate press conferences, are expected to release further details on Tuesday.
