A victim left with life-changing injuries by Nottingham triple-killer Valdo Calocane has called for a public enquiry into the “disappointing” sentence. Wayne Birkett, of Newark, was hit by a van that drove into him intentionally in Nottingham city centre in the early hours of June 13 last year. It was driven by Calocane, 32, who had stolen it after killing its owner, school caretaker Ian Coates, 65, and students Barnaby Webber and Grace O’Malley-Kumar, both 19.
