Oppo is expected to launch the Find X8 line of smartphones in the fourth quarter of 2024. Although the company has not officially disclosed details about the phones, rumors about them have been circulating for a long time. Adding to this speculation, reliable informant Digital Chat Station (DCS) today revealed some interesting features of the lineup.

According to DCS’s post on Weibo, the Find X8 series will include Oppo‘s Live Photos feature, which was first introduced in the Reno 12 series.

It’s similar to Apple’s Live Photos feature, which captures the moments before and after the shutter is pressed, creating a short video clip within a still image. These “live” photos can be shared directly on social media platforms, a feature that is not currently available on most Android phones.

More intriguing, however, is DCS’s announcement that the Find X8 line will even support Apple’s Airdrop. It is speculated that the Find X8 series can provide seamless two-way file sharing between Oppo devices and iPhones. If Oppo successfully implements this feature, it could be a good reason for iPhone users to consider switching to Android.

Oppo Find X8 and X8 Pro specifications

As for the phone’s specs, previous reports have shown that the Find X8 and Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 processor.

The display is rumored to be an OLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. But it might be a flat display for the Find X8, while the Pro variant might have a screen with curved edges.

As for the cameras, we expect a triple unit on the back, including a 3x periscope telephoto lens and a Hasselblad setup. The main camera is likely to be a 50MP Sony sensor with a large 1/1.4″ size. Oppo may also introduce a new image processing algorithm to improve camera performance.
