The European parliament published a strongly worded resolution on April 25 that calls for Georgia’s accession process to be put on ice if the Georgian parliament passes the so-called “foreign agent law”. The resolution, which had 425 votes for and only 25 against, strongly condemns the attempt by the ruling Georgian Dream party to pass at the second attempt a law that is regarded as modelled on Russian legislation to crack down on opposition media and NGOs.
