According to a media report, Israel is considering a limited agreement with the Palestinian Islamist group Hamas in order to secure the release of at least 20 hostages. Israeli media outlet Channel 12 reported on Thursday that the proposed deal involves female, elderly and sick hostages. In return, Israel would allow displaced persons in the Gaza Strip to return to the north of the coastal region. The proposal was discussed at a meeting of Israel’s war cabinet.
