Olympic athletics champion Marie-José Pérec and judo great Teddy Riner lit the Olympic cauldron for the Paris Olympics, at the bottom of a hot air balloon which then rose to the sky. Their torches were lit after a final part of the torch relay which started at Trocadéro where French president Emmanuel Marcron had earlier opened the Games.
