Kelly Cody, from Benwell, Newcastle, flew to Gran Canaria with her pal and her seven-year-old granddaughter as an early Christmas treat. But their trip turned into a nightmare after the 44-year-old was admitted to hospital after she struggled to breathe. Medics found that she was suffering from pneumonia and put her in a coma.
