Multiple adults were injured Sunday night after a deck at a home in Newark collapsed, city officials said. Police responded to a 6:29 p.m. call to a residence on Kearny Street near Summer Avenue after the porch staircase collapsed, Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé said. Eight adults were injured, he said. The victims were transported to University Hospital in Newark for evaluation of minor injuries. No further information is available, police said.
