Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) apprehended Carlos Heriberto Mendoza-Martinez, a 31-year-old Mexican national, in Durham on July 17th. Mendoza-Martinez was unlawfully present in the United States and had previously been deported. Mendoza-Martinez has a significant criminal history, including a 2010 conviction for manslaughter. Following his conviction, an immigration judge ordered his removal from the United States, and ICE carried out the deportation in 2013.
