More than eight out of 10 petrol and diesel drivers are refusing to switch to an electric vehicle despite the Labour Government insisting on the move. Experts found that 86 per cent of drivers would prefer petrol or diesel vehicles to an electric one which is still priced too high for consumers. According to data, 57 per cent of drivers would not turn to electric any time soon, while eight per cent admitted they would only do so before the 2035 deadline.
