In this week’s Picture This, Lynn Museum shows a painting that could be recognisable to many people who know Lynn well… This week’s image shows a street view that will be instantly recognisable to many Lynn residents. Robert Whitmore’s painting shows Hampton Court on the right and numbers 2 & 4 Nelson Street on the left, formerly The Valiant Sailor public house and once home of another famous Lynn artist, Walter Dexter, RA. Both buildings are great examples of medieval double jettied houses, depicted here in vibrant red and ochre.
