This hints at an imminent launch announcement, which may come in two versions: with 5G and 4G LTE support. 91mobiles spotted the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and Galaxy A16 5G models on FCC and TUV Rheinland certificates, which reveal certain features and specifications.
The Samsung Galaxy A16 models will be the brand’s upcoming budget offerings, replacing the Galaxy A15, which was launched in December 2023.
Galaxy A16 4G
The Samsung Galaxy A16 4G has appeared on the US FCC certification platform with a picture of the phone’s “Status Information” showing the Mac address, Wi-Fi Mac address, and serial number.
The FCC ID mentioned is A3LSMA165M for the 4G model, and the phone will be equipped with 4G LTE, NFC, Bluetooth, and GPS.
The FCC data indicates that the charger will have the model number EP-TA800 and the data cable will be EP-DN980.
TUV Rheinland’s listing confirms that both phones will support 18W fast charging (at 9V and 2.77A), but a 25W adapter may be included.
Galaxy A16 5G
Samsung Galaxy A16 5G has the model number SM-A166B/DS and FCC ID: A3LSMA166M.
The FCC listing suggests that the phone will have 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC. Judging by the sketch, we can see a triple camera setup.
The TUV Rheinland certification shows that the Samsung Galaxy A16 5G can come with a nominal 4860 mAh battery and a typical 5000 mAh. The model number is W3-S-S.
The listings confirm that we will see fast charging with a power of 18 W (at 9 V and 2.77 A), but the kit may include a 25 W adapter.
Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and 5G: what we know
The Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and Galaxy A16 5G have recently appeared on Samsung‘s website, hinting that a launch may be just around the corner. The 5G version has also appeared on the NBTC platform, hinting at wider availability.
A recent report revealed that the 5G version will be launched by the end of this month and will possibly come with a 6-year OS update. The design of the phone is already known thanks to alleged leaked renders.
