A federal grand jury has indicted Casey Robert Goonan, 34, from Oakland and Pleasant Hill, for allegedly firebombing a University of California Police Department (UCPD) patrol car on June 1, 2024. The indictment alleges that Goonan brought six Molotov cocktails onto the UC Berkeley campus and ignited them under a UCPD vehicle. Although the car did not explode, it sustained significant damage and was declared a total loss.
