In June, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Watch 7 series, which will be available in three versions. The top-of-the-line model is expected to be called the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra, but according to new rumors, it could also be called the Galaxy Watch X. It is likely to compete with the Apple Watch Ultra.
Reportedly, the Galaxy Watch X or Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra will be able to withstand pressure equivalent to 100 meters underwater, which is in line with the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2. However, it is important to note that the actual depth to which the devices can be submerged is different and is 40 meters for the Apple Watch Ultra only. A similar story may happen with the Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra.
According to reports, the Watch 7 Ultra will have a longer battery life than the other models in the Watch 7 series. You can get 100 hours of battery life from the 578 mAh battery inside the Watch 7 Ultra. In comparison, the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and Watch5 Pro reportedly offer significantly shorter battery life – 40 hours and 80 hours with a 425 mAh battery and a larger 590 mAh battery, respectively. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 reportedly offers a battery life of 36 hours with a 564 mAh battery.
While the Watch 7 Ultra may have a slightly larger battery, the massive improvement (according to speculation) seems to be due to the device being more power efficient. The device will be powered by a 3nm Exynos W1000 chip, which is said to be 20% more powerful and energy efficient than the 5nm Exynos W930.
The W1000 is also likely to be Samsung’s first 3nm chip for the mass market. Along with the new watch, the company will also introduce a new generation of Galaxy foldable smartphones and the long-awaited Galaxy Ring.
