German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall has received a major order from the German armed forces to supply an air defence system, the company announced in Düsseldorf on Tuesday. The defence contractor will supply the mobile Skyranger 30 air defence system to Germany’s Bundeswehr. The order is worth €595 million ($645 million) and provides for the delivery of a prototype and a further 18 production vehicles, according to Rheinmetall. There is an option for 30 further systems.
