Migrant domestic workers’ union organisations have said they are “dismayed” and “disappointed” by the HK$120 increase to domestic workers’ minimum monthly salary. The government on Friday announced a 2.5 per cent rise in the minimum wage paid to migrant domestic workers in the city, raising their monthly salary from HK$4,870 to HK$4,990 for contracts signed on, or after, Saturday.
