The Salzburg Festival will expand its facilities by 10,000 square metres in the coming years, increasing its footprint by more than a quarter, the festival’s business manager, Lukas Crepaz, said on Wednesday. The renovation and expansion project, for which around €400 million ($445 million) has been budgeted until 2031, will begin in early September, right after the end of this year’s festival, Crepaz said.
